The following article from Education & Self Development, 'Local history principle in organizing independent study and research work' by NG Perevozchikova, first published in Issue 45 (September 2015) of the Journal has been retracted by the Author, the Journal's Editor-in-Chief Nick Rushby and the publishers Kazan Federal University, due to the inclusion of significant passages of material previously published by the author in the Journal Philology: theory and practice.

Redundant publication

It has come to the Editors' notice that a version of the following article from Education & Self Development, 'Competence approach to overcoming reading and writing violations of secondary school students in a multinational region ' by G.V. Valiullina, published in Issue 45 (September 2015) was published in Young scientist in 2009. This article in E&SD should have included a reference to the article by the same author in Young scientist.

At that time, the instructions for authors in E&SD did not include require authors to " Confirm that their contribution is original and that is has neither been published previously nor is currently being considered for publication elsewhere.". Authors must now confirm this in their covering letter to the Editor-in-Chief when they make the submission.

This article in E&SD should have included a reference to the article by the same author in Historical and social-educational idea.
